Mirror Image: A REAL Enchanted Musical
REGISTRATION: Monday, October 3rd from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. AUDITION WORKSHOP: Monday, October 10th from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. AUDITIONS: Friday, October 14th from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. READ THROUGH: Saturday, October 15, 2011 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. REHEARSALS: Most Saturdays from Noon to 3:00 p.m. Parts are available for kids age 4-16 years old! All of this will be held at the Royal Majestic Theater at Trillium Academy at 15740 Racho Road, between Eureka and Pennsylvania, Taylor, MI. PERFORMANCES: Friday February 24th, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, February 25th, at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, February 26th, at 2:00 p.m. A mash-up of “Enchanted” and “High School Musical” and centers on two high schools: one in reality and the other in fairy-tale land, once upon a time. The play opens in Fairy Tale High School with the headmaster/mistress Gable taking attendance of all your favorite fairy-tale characters! Everyone is living happily ever after, except for the Woodsman, who is tired of being an incidental character and dreams of being a hero. When Cinderella's stepsisters find a portal to another world with the help of the Magic Mirror, they get zapped in to a very real high school,. The Woodsman seizes his chance to be a hero and rescue them, but the stepsisters have no intention of returning to the fantasy realm. After all, in the “real” world, mean girls are popular! The Woodsman finds himself in over his head and recruits the help of Danica, a hard-core realist who never believed in fairy tales. She's running for class president, but her campaign speeches are filled with gloom and doom! Meanwhile, the sky is falling in fairy-tale land; without the Woodsman, Little Red is attacked by the Wolf, Sleeping Beauty keeps putting herself to sleep when she pricks her finger on the axe she's using to chop her own wood and Cinderella is depressed because Prince Charming isn't interested in her. As reality seeps into fantasy, the Princesses realize that they can be their own heroes and cross over into reality to set things right!! With zany characters, a rocking pop score, 36 speaking parts (9 males, 17 females and 10 parts that can be played either male or female) and tons of singing solos, this musical is sure to please the actors and actresses that enroll!! Tuition is $170 and includes a keepsake script, rehearsal CD, five adult tickets to the performance and the final cast party. Disney's Mulan Jr
When the White Huns, led by the ruthless Shan Yu, invade China, each family is given a conscription notice. Mulan's father, Fa Zhou has to serve in the army, but he is old and suffered a leg injury during a previous war, and it seems clear he would not survive another war. Fa Mulan disguises herself as a man, then takes her father's conscription notice, armour, and weapons so that he will not have to go. She rides away on her horse, Khan, to join the army, aware of the fact that the punishment for a woman impersonating a soldier is death! Please come prepared to sing and participate in a dance audition.

The Little Mermaid
AUDITION WORKSHOP: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. AUDITIONS: Friday, June 24, 2011 from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. READ THROUGH: Saturday, June 25th, 2011 from Noon to 3:00 p.m. REHEARSALS: Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. beginning June 30th, 2011 PERFORMANCES: Friday, August 12th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, August 14th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. This calypso musical follows Murmur, the little mermaid, on her first journey to the top of the sea on her “rising”. The entire undersea kingdom is busy with preparations for Murmur’s big day: King Neptune is busy preparing a proclamation, Granny is making a good luck charm bracelet, Minnowmaid, Murmur’s older sister, is making tasty candies for her trip and the Sea Urchin, the King’s majordomo, is trying to keep everything in order without losing his sanity. The big day finally arrives and the undersea kingdom gives Murmur a grand send-off. At the top of the sea, Murmur meets the painfully shy, but quietly funny Ollie, reluctantly in training to be the King, and not exactly Murmur’s idea of Prince Charming. Their ensuing friendship and Ollie’s insecurity prompts Murmur to seek out the help of the Sea Witch. The Sea Witch has been plotting with her henchmen, Turt, a silly turtle, and Tort, a villainous tortoise, to capture Murmur’s magical voice in an evil scheme to rob the coronation ships of their treasure. When Murmur sings, it puts all who listen to her in a magical trance—perfect for the Sea Witch’s plot!!! The chorus of this show is made up of jelly fish, shimmying seaweed, sharks, stingrays, octopus and other brightly colored sea creatures. This charming retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale is a definite audience pleaser with it’s larger-than-life characters, lively calypso dance numbers and it’s fantastical underwater setting. This musical also has a wonderful message to believe in yourself and embrace your uniqueness.

The only stage adaptation authorized by J. R. R. Tolkien, this story is based on his classic tale and prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Hobbit follows the adventures (and misadventures) of Bilbo Baggins as his quiet, comfortable life is turned upside down by a band of twelve dwarves and a wizard who seek to reclaim the dwarves homeland and a long-lost treasure from a dragon.

Auditions will be held at Trillium Academy 1547 Racho Road, Taylor, MI 48180. There are plenty of parts for men and women. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script and are open to teens age 13-17 and adults of all ages. Casting will be gender and color blind. Please wear comfortable clothing. If cast, there is a participation fee that includes a keepsake script and two adult tickets to any performance.
